Tom Hofmann - Co-Chairman / President, Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services Foundation (OPRS)
Thomas Hofmann has served as president of the Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services Foundation since 1986. Prior to that, he was vice president for development of that organization and, earlier, director of development for the Boy Scouts of America in Cleveland.
Hofmann earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Akron.
He has been a certified fund-raising executive since 1984. In 1996, he received the Outstanding Fundraising Executive of the Year Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Hofmann chaired the Long-Term Care Network, a national network for long-term care industry fund-raising. He also chaired the Outdoor Services Board for the YMCA of Central Ohio, for whom he also served on both the Metropolitan Board and the Camp Board.
At Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, Hofmann has chaired the Finance Committee and the Administrative Board, as well as annual stewardship campaigns. He served for four years on the church's West Ohio Conference Pension Board and currently serves on the Council of Development.
Hofmann lives in Reynoldsburg, Ohio with his wife, Sandy. They have two daughters and six grandchildren.
David Ransom- Co-Chairman / President, The Ransom Group
David Ransom is founder and president of The Ransom Group, an executive search group based in central Ohio. His responsibilities include providing overall leadership and strategic direction for the company's ongoing business activities.
A graduate of Eastern Illinois University, Ransom utilizes more than 20 years of experience and knowledge in his field to improve the execution and performance standards for his company.
Ransom has built an extensive personal network of the industry's top leaders and has personally completed hundreds of senior management searches. Prior to founding The Ransom Group, David was a partner in a national search firm specializing in managed health care. For more than eight years he was recognized as one of the firm's leading consultants.
Ransom was chairman of the Administrative Board of the Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church and has served in leadership roles related to mentoring incarcerated men and working with ex-offenders upon their release. He also works with the church's Youth Group and with the church's partnership with a nearby low-income community.
Dave and his wife, Kim, have two daughters and live in Blacklick, Ohio.
Thomas Fenstermaker - Board Member, Retired
Thomas Fenstermaker is retired after 36 years with Nationwide Insurance, a Fortune 100 Company located in Columbus Ohio. He held various and numerous management positions in medical operations, administration, underwriting, customer service, systems and data processing, product development and project management. Most recently he served as Director of Product Development in Nationwide’s consolidated health operations at Gates McDonald and Employers of Wausau, Director of Technology in Nationwide’s Office of Agency Financial Services, and Consultant within Nationwide’s health operations.
Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University with focus in the biological sciences and psychology. Additionally, he earned professional industry
designations including: Fellow - Life Management Institute (FLMI), Associate in Life and Health Claims (ALHC) and Managed Healthcare Professional (MHP). He was selected and completed Life Insurance and Marketing Research Association’s (LIMRA’s) “Strategies for Executive Advancement” training located in Farmington Connecticut.
He has held numerous church leadership positions including two terms as Congregational Chair, and President of the Men’s Club at Messiah Lutheran Church. He is currently a member of Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church serving as past Board member and Treasurer of its Foundation, and adult Sunday School facilitator for the past 18 years. Tom has served as Kindway’s Treasurer since its inception as a 501-C-3 corporation.
Tom and JoAnn, his wife of 42 years, live in Reynoldsburg. They are blessed with two wonderful married daughters: Emily and Marianne, two great sons-in-law: Mike and Ben, and two fabulous grandchildren: Abby and Andy, all of whom thankfully live close to home.
William (Bill) Garcia - Board Member, TableForce LLC
Bill Garcia is a contract negotiator, negotiation trainer and worldwide motivational speaker. Garcia’s corporate career experience includes direct sales and sales management; export sales to Latin America; national sale and account management; and vice president of sales and marketing positions. His entrepreneurial experience includes being a founder and board member of a business-to-business global sourcing company, as well as several other smaller LLP ventures. Garcia has demonstrated experience in idea generation, capital raising, business development, executive level team building and execution.
TableForce (formerly Garcia & Associates) began as counsel to various Fortune 500 companies during contract negotiations in 1997. Garcia and his partners regularly sit at-the-table representing both buyers and sellers. Additionally TableForce provides customized negotiation training worldwide (over 40 countries on 6 continents).
Garcia holds a Masters of International Management (MBA) from “Thunderbird”, and received his BA from the James Madison College of Michigan State University in International Relations. He’s also completed the Kellogg School of Management, University of Notre Dame, Harvard Law School and M.I.T. programs on negotiation strategies.
Ernest W. Marshall - Board Member / Vice President, Human Resources, GE Aviation
Ernest assumed his current position as vice president, human resources with GE Aviation in July 2013. Prior to this role, he helped successfully transform the Aviation Systems business, a strategic business acquisition, by developing an HR infrastructure geared towards building a successful business and culture.
He joined GE in June of 1997 on the Human Resources Leadership Program (HRLP) at GE Capital Consumer Finance. Following his first business rotation on the HRLP program, Ernest joined GE’s Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) as an auditor. In June 1999, Ernest joined GE Healthcare in Milwaukee, WI, as the HR leader for GE’s acquisition of Marquette Medical, following which he joined GE Aviation in January 2001 as the Human Resources/Union Relations manager for Structures Supply Chain and the
Engineering CoE. Since then, he has taken on roles of increasing responsibility across the Aviation organization.
Ernest is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, where he earned his master’s degree in business administration and his Juris Doctor, with concentrations in marketing/human resources and corporate/employment law, respectively. He also holds a bachelor’s degree with a double major in accounting and business administration from Bellarmine University in Louisville.
Ernest is very active in the community. He leads GE Aviation’s GE Volunteers organization and serves as the Operating Leader of GE’s African American Forum (AAF). He also serves on the board of the Cincinnati Art Museum.
He resides with his family in Cincinnati, OH.
Nancy Pettigrew - Board Member / President of The People Skills Company
Nancy Pettigrew is President of The People Skills Company formed in 1989 and Founder of The Healthy Workplace, Ltd. established in 1995. Their combined mission is to help organizations create workplace cultures where people want to work as leaders and staffs come together helping each person contribute his or her talents to fulfilling the mission and goals. She serves organizations of all types and sizes nationally and internationally.
Nancy is an Authorized Partner of Everything DiSC Workplace Solutions and an Authorized Partner and Accredited Facilitator of The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team. She received her certification for the ESAP assessment from the Emotional Intelligence Learning Systems. In addition, Nancy has been awarded the following
certifications from Target Training International: CPBA (Certified Professional Behavior Analyst) CPVA (Certified Professional Values Analyst) and Certified Professional TriMetrix Analyst.
Nancy is a Founding Member of The Freedom’s Path Initiative, LLC, a member of the World Wide Network of Servant Leadership, a Past President of the Heartland Chapter of the International Society for Performance Improvement, a member of Capital City Organizational Development Network, the Association of Talent Development and a founding member of the Columbus Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners.
Nancy has her degree in education from The Ohio State University where she participated in the specialized curriculum, “The Urban Teachers Education Project.”
Nancy and her husband Bob reside in Columbus. They have three children and three grandchildren.
Hope Seel – Board Member / Retired Entrepreneur - Former President and CEO of RH Positive, Inc.
Ms.Seel enjoyed working with small businesses in her own accounting firm which merged with RH Positive Computer Systems, a software provider for the nursing home industry to help solve their accounting and clinical needs. RH Positive was sold in July, 2010 after 30 years in the industry.
Seel has been a member of Church of the Messiah UM since 1982. She has served in many leadership roles and has been church treasurer since 1996. Hope has led a small group bible study in her home since 1999. She served as co-lay director of the steering committee for the Greater Columbus Walk to Emmaus, helping to begin that movement in 1984. She attended the academy for certified lay ministers and is a certified lay speaker.
Seel became involved with Kairos prison ministry in 1994, helping to begin the ministry at Ohio Reformatory for Women. She was the first advisory council chair and served on several teams. She was chair of the Ohio state Kairos committee 2000-2001. She also helped start Kairos at Franklin pre-release, serving as leader of weekend #2 and as advisory council chair for three years.
She is happily married to Russ Seel for 31 years. They have a blended family of three sons and six grand children. Hope and Russ reside in Westerville, Ohio.
Cathi Shaw - Board Member / Learning and Development Specialist, Worthington Industries, Inc.
Mrs. Shaw has been with Worthington Industries since 1976, in various commercial and risk management roles, and has spent the past 25 years fulfilling her passion to help people excel in their professional (and personal!) lives.
Mrs. Shaw earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with an individualized concentration in small group dynamics from Otterbein College (now Otterbein University) in Westerville, Ohio in 1975. She is certified to teach the curriculum of Christian communication skills, Apples of Gold and Rational Christian Thinking. She is certified to instruct and facilitate curriculum from Blessing-White (Managing Personal Growth), Development Dimensions, International (Interaction Management) and VitalSmarts, Inc. (Crucial Conversations, Crucial Accountability, and Influencer).
Mrs. Shaw worships at Church of the Master UM in Westerville, where she and her husband are 40-year members of the Chancel Choir. She has held roles on various committees, taught Sunday School for ten years, and was a youth counselor for seven years. She also sang with the New Presence Gospel Quartet for thirteen years.
Mrs. Shaw lives in Sunbury, Ohio with her husband of 40 years, Greg. They have two grown sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law, and three amazing grandchildren.
Karen Vance - Board Member
Karen is a retired Dental Hygienist and spends her time now as a full time wife, mother and volunteer. Karen is married to Rusty and they have one son Robb. While her son Robb was in school, she was heavily involved in school activities, including PTA treasurer. Following Robb throughout his Scouting career, she started as a den mother and continued in various positions with the Boy Scouts of America until Robb received his Eagle Scout rank in 2010. Karen is also involved with her church, Brice United Methodist and the Reynoldsburg Emmaus community. Recently she has been feeling called into a different area of ministry with the many programs of prison ministries.
Greg Wilmer – Board Member / President and CEO, JumpMind, Inc.
Greg Wilmer is President and CEO of JumpMind, Inc., a software products and services company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. JumpMind focuses on data synchronization and integration software and services for a wide variety of vertical markets from retail to health care to oil and gas, and serves some of the largest companies in the United States.
Prior to joining JumpMind, Greg was Vice President of IT for Big Lots, directing all software development and support for this Fortune 500 retailer. Prior to joining Big Lots he was CIO / COO for Communication Resources, Inc.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Ohio State and a Master's degree in Engineering and Management from MIT.
