Kindway began in 2009 as Crossroads Community Development Corporation, a non-profit subsidiary of Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church. Named Kindway in October 2011, a small staff leveraged over 100 volunteers to operate The Shepherd's Place free clothing store with ancillary social services, and EMBARK, an innovative prison reentry program. In November 2013, The Shepherd's Place ministry returned to Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church and Kindway became an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on providing services to incarcerated men and women including preparing them for return to the community.
Kindway's rich history includes visionaries who set a standard of excellence for serving others. Countless acts of kindness to individuals and families in need, and to incarcerated men and women have defined who we are. Kindway volunteers accompany people being served on their journey toward independence.
